To find Maria, enter the standard Stage 2 and play until the zombie bull is chasing you. As you are chased, smash the third candle to get a key; grab it and continue through the level. At the end of the sewer section of this level, you'll see a locked door; use the key on the door (throw it) to enter, and you'll rescue Maria. You'll be able to switch between Richter and Maria either after you die or whenever you load and start up the game. =>Maria's Secret Attack: While playing as Maria, quickly press D, U, D + Forward <II> (attack). Maria's shadow will burst forward and do a fairly large amount of damage. =>Richter's Turning Jump: If you hold down the jump button as Richter is jumping through the air, you can press L or R to redirect or turn him around. =>Flame Whip: If Richter has no subweapons at all, press <SELECT> to do a flaming whip attack. This will consume hearts. =>Extended Whip: As soon as you attack with the whip, tap forward twice and the whip should glow and extend just a bit further. =>No Damage Bonus: Finish a level without taking any damage to receive the No Damage Bonus of an extra life.
